Massive forecast failed again and really cold outside 15C with gale force winds up to 40-50mph, neighbour bin roll over, cold and over cast skies as it supposed to be warming up with lot of sunshine and lighter breeze from the east.  19.1C in the conservatory which the coldest day time since april due to no sun so might not see 20C at all.

No surprise to see the rain missing here yet again this afternoon. Still, it may be dull and humid, but it'll get the washing dry - can't imagine many others will have clothes on the line today!

Overcast, windy from the NE, 19.0, dew 17.7, the high so far being 19.1.

Thick fog off sea with stiff NE wind at 14C, there's been about 3mm of heavy drizzle light rain on and off - very grim day over moors.

Awful day here in Chippenham, particularly past few hours. Very wet, breezy and chilly. Hopefully only an hour or so more to endure for now at least.

There was some earlier brightness here in Edinburgh but that didn't last for long and the cloud was soon back with a vengeance.

It's also become fairly misty and there is now some light drizzly rain around with a temperature of around 15°C.

A bleak day in south Dorset. I have to get out later to meet up with my brother who's on his boat tied up in Weymouth harbour for what's promised by his wife to be a gourmet meal for me and the family. Car parking is going to be fun because the place I originally planned to park in by the theatre (next to his boat) is closed for a sea food fest preparation for this weekend. Which means a long walk in the rain along the quay.
He's spent the last few weeks in and around Stornoway and the Western Isles in what's been a rain fest at times too.
And in what I assume were 'real gales' not a fresh breeze.

Steady and substantial rain now stopped, not quite the deluge promised. A mix of low and high clouds shooting across westwards, even the occasional gap to see rather stormy-looking blue sky.

Overcast for much of today. A modest 14 mm so far where the rain was sporadic and moderate in nature but the worst of the rain mostly bypassed to my west. Still a muggy feeling 19.2 C with 96% H adding to the clammy feel despite a mod NE breeze.

Why would I want to go back to gloomy, haar and drizzle?

Well after a fantastic week in Norway with every day except one being sunny I return to see still no rain to speak of here. Looks like we had 5.1mm a couple of days ago but nothing here today which was surprising as I thought I had seen rain warnings while I was away.
It did manage to rain in Bergen though which was quite nice given it is Europe's wettest city with 3000 mm per year!

This evening the weather has been really poor.  It's just got windier and windier, 42mph at nearby Leeds Bradford Airport.
Fog and drizzle swirling around to go with the wind, horrible!

Woken by heavy rain and thunder this morning, after heavy rain and thunder for much of yesterday afternoon.
Local PWS had 19.5mm yesterday, and 3.6mm so far today. No excuse for the lawn to look brown now (though it does). Sandy soil.

15.7C - heavy rain set in after a briefly bright sunrise.

It's the first time this Autumn I've seen steam rising from a neighbour's C/H - and it's drifting straight up.

Foggy, windy , 14.8c.
Worried the cloud won't break up as it's supposed to be warm and sunny today.  Positively it is sunny to the East in York but the cloud is clinging to the Pennines.
