As I write, we're just over two weeks away from Hallowe'en and tonight's weather is quite appropriate for that as dense fog has closed in here in Edinburgh, and it's raining as well with all of that giving everything a very eery and spooky look.
In spite of that though and despite all of the cloud cover, today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank still reached a rather warm (for this time of year) 15.6°C.
Despite what Jerry said above, that wasn't enough to make today our warmest day of the year so far (for that, we have to go back to 5 October 2024 when the temperature reached 16.2°C at that same station) but today was our second day of this month so far.
Furthermore, the temperatures are now generally refusing to drop and remain stuck at around 13°C, so it looks as though we will be having to endure yet more double figures overnight minimums for the second night in a row.🤢
