I'll start by saying I found it astonishing that King Kenny didn't start Kuyt to provide cover for Skrtel. I actually felt sorry for Skrtel because obviously he is not an RB, but was forced into that position due to injuries.

It was a disastrous day for Liverpool! Watched the match and couldn't believe how poor they were. Of course the sendings off didn't help but Spurs were well on top before the red cards anyway. Skrtel was shown up horribly during the game and I agree that Kuyt should have started on the right in support.

Carroll looks well off the pace at the moment - he offered nothing.

Ah right, I was sure that one commentator had said that Skrtel had been preferred to Kelly, clearly he hadn't done his homework.

To pick up Steve's point, Carroll is looking increasingly overpriced, early days of course but he isn't nearly as threatening as he was for Newcastle

I went wrong in playing Skrtle at RB. It was going to be him or Carragher - and both are slower than me. Harry (or the players on the pitch) saw the weakness as something to exploit. Other Liverpool players got pulled out of position, freeing up space for other Spurs players.

Saying that, I thought Tottenham's attitude was spot on. They came at Liverpool and dictated the pace of the game. Liverpool were never allowed to settle.

Worrying to see the form of Carroll. Is the answer to give him more game time? Or less? I do think that Liverpool are desperate not to be seen as a hit-it-toward-the-big-fella-and-hope sort of team, and maybe not giving him enough service. They need to vary their play, mix it up - and that includes a long ball to Carroll at times.

Carroll loves to attack a crossed ball and with Downing in the team you have one of the best exponants of getting beyond the man (or creating half a yard) and crossing the ball. If that is the case, then maybe more game time is what is required to get some sharpness back................as much as don't really like Carroll as a person, it would be nice to see him get back to some form.
