Hadley have obviously had problems with their website as it's taken ten days for them to update.

On balance MEO forecast for last ten days of June is close to or a little below normal so end result il for June likely to b e just slightly negative.

Looks like we are nailed on for the third consecutive sub 14c June CET, which hasn't happened since 1981.

Using Phillip Eden's 13.2°C to 20th, then adding yesterday's CET value followed by the 06z GFS op run to month's end gives a final CET of 13.7°C. Even doing a rough adjustment to account for GFS potentially overdoing the minimums on a few nights doesn't lift the final CET to 14.0°C.

So I'm inclined to agree with Brummie Snowman there, and anticipate another near-1°C error in the competition. 'Steady half-decent predictions' seems to be my nature this year!

Just realised the raw Hadley CET + GFS 06z run actually produced a final CET just over 14°C rather than just under...

The 12z GFS op run is not as warm Thursday but puts on an impressive show for next weekend which probably gives a similar final CET from being combined each of the P.E. and Hadley data sets.

Here is an update on my calculations for June. Up to yesterday I have a CET of 13.58C compared to Hadley which is at 13.91C

Looking ahead I currently expect the June CET to finish at 13.75C which is very similar to what we have seen in June for the past two years.

June will probably be the first month of 2013 that is not more than 0.5C below the 1971-2000 mean but is almost certain to still come in below that mean figure.
