I went out for a walk towards the end of the lunch interval, couldnt bear to watch any more. Came back expecting us to be going to Lords one down. I thought we were toast.

They still might, I for one didnt think they would as I am expecting a rain interupted test somewhere. Not too sure I can see the Aussies winning a test they might nick a draw though

It's the third consecutive England win over the Aussies in Tests. They beat the Aussies at Melbourne and Sydney in the last two Tests of the last Ashes series.

Do you know when we last had 3 consecutive wins over the Aussies? It was Edgbaston and Oval 1985, Brisbane 1986-87

1977 was also the last time there was a British singles winner at Wimbledon prior to last Sunday, so who knows? Perhaps history might repeat itself.

England win the next test and its series over. Add to that and absolutely outrageous anti-convict victory rant by myself.

Had us worried with 30 runs left. Lads did well and I'm glad England kept the run of ashes good form going today.

It is an GLORIOUS Monday morning at work here in Sydney

Lots of glum looking faces around. I much perfer beating Australia like that in a close game than hammering them by an innings as it is much more satisfying when the Aussies feel like they had hope / could have won. It's like a big old kick in the guts, it sometimes hurts more when you get so close 

Hopefully we  can work out what weakness Agar has with the bat now also and slow his career right down from here, he needs a good working over in the next test.

Can't wait for the next test!

Don't forget the next one is at Lords, where the touring sides tend to do well.

This is true, until fairly recently Australia had a fantastic record at Lords. It will be another dry and dusty wicket but perhaps offering a little more in the way of spin than Trent Bridge. I would be surpised if the wicket held up as much.

All those saying 2005 again are on the money! Except this time its us who are the favourites... I'm yet to be convinced that the Aussies will get much better than that and if Agar had been given out when he should have been the Aussies would have been chasing 400+ and wouldn't have got close.

Questions over Finn, so I wouldn't be suprised to see him as the only change (with Bresnan the favourite to come in).

Test cricket has never died, I watched a T20 at Hampshire on friday and a great night out though it was it was still a Big Mac (or choose your preferred supplier of fast food...) to a five course banquet in terms of drama, tension and all the rest.
