Once I got to Heckfield, it was dry, and the car thermometer gradually increased up to 28C here in Arborfield, where it is cloudy with big towers going up all around. I am currently sat in the garden, and I've heard two distant rumbles of thunder from the clouds above. 👍 [thunder]

Any chance any of these nursery storms migrating north up the M1 to Leicester.... ? We have cloud bubbling but not to the extent showed/told from further down south.

Looks like I'm missing out on all the action, stuck here in London while the storms kick off in Hampshire!

This shows activity quite well, if it works.

GFS picked up the area at risk quite well although obviously it can only be a rough blob

Talk of thunderstorms coming up from the South locally during Friday and into the weekend as a low down in Southern Biscay throws up troughs/fronts. A bit far out at present but one to keep an eye on as temps. keep climbing.

Downpour to the south, downpour to the east - why do I get the feeling that we will miss out in Reading?!

They really are small, nasty and all but stationary aren't they. Reckon could've a few problems for anyone found under them.

Frequent rumbles of thunder heard here in Arborfield (one every 30 seconds or so) presumably from the cell currently over Bracknell, and inching towards us. Unfortunately I'm about to head west to Spencer's Wood to pick up my daughter, but hopefully I'll be back before the storm gets here (if it doesn't die out first).

Reasonable call by the meto. Cap broke near the Chilterns and extended SW to the N.Downs.

Chased up to Odiham to get under a decent localised cell with torrential rain and some good backbuilding. Also drove up to Hartley Witney on the A30 to observe the heavy storm in the distance towards Slough.

Alton remained dry but will count as a "thunder day"

On the way home from work tonight saw some huge bubbling clouds to the North & West of London. Agree that these storms have been well forcasted. The threat moves further West tomorrow. One to watch.

It looks like the storm over Bracknell has both lost some intensity and turned left, so it'll pass us by to the SE. The sky is dark in that direction, it's very quiet, but I don't think I need to dash around getting all the garden furniture in.

This was the original Odiham cell around 1730z as viewed from Alton. I subsequently engaged this storm which gave torrential rain at Odiham

This cluster of developing cells became the major storm that affected the Slough area an hour ago. I took the shot from the A30, just SW of Hartley Witney
