Heavy shower just passed over, no thunder. Knocked around 2C off the temp, but put the humidity up 12% Frown. Gone very still again, lets hope the next one is better

Looks like I just missed a second batch - we left Poole harbour area around 4.30-5pm. Had a few spots of rain on the windscreen around Ferndown but then outpaced it. I will try to upload some vids of last nights in a minute...

A couple of claps of thunder in Bucklebury...as just mentioned in N24 by the reporter!

Can see that from my hobby room window, Steve, but have a ruddy great big tree and a flat blocking most of it. I'd have to run to the far end of the street to get a clear view of it.

Have noticed on the BBC map that it has the rain missing East Kent with most of the action over West Kent tomorrow (looks like they are following NAE's lead). Good ol' Shield, but let's see how accurate that is when I do my Cloud Master forecast first thing in the morning.

Well I watched two thunderstorms get their act together simultaneously to my east and north. There were numerous flashes and associated rumbles but nothing all that close and, as last night, there was only a few sporadic rain drops to tease the garden.

Seems like the thundery activity in general across the UK is a bit less than the ESTOFEX outlook predicted.

Getting darker now all around (Leicester) tops visible sporadically due to lower cloud here and there, just had a 3 minute shower, biggish, incredibly warm rain-spots and a distant (south-west) rumble........ estimate 30 odd miles from Leicester? Probably south west of Coventry and north of Oxford?
Sound feasible?

Quite timely that tonight's full moon is nicknamed the "Thunder Moon"!

At this rate, looks like I'l get a good showing of the moon as skies are largely clear, save a few acu, and a bit of distant high cloud. Some huge cells ballooning in N France.

Getting darkere and darker here as the huge thunder head begins to pass over.

The storm is torrential with central cores of between 60 to 78mms per hour to my S/SW

Another potent storm just east of Leicester city to.

As promised a few pics of last night's storm, taken from the campsite near Corfe Castle in Dorset.

First glimpse of the cell going up way to the south...

Getting closer...

And closer...

Can anyone recommend a good video hosting site? I just tried one but it spawned so many dodgy popups that I dont want to post it here! The above is a still from a video to give you an idea of the activity in the distance.

Looks like AcCas here in Manchester developing into more general towering cumulus to the south of the City Centre. Looks quite murky out there but the cloud development is not reaching too greater height at the moment.
