All over here. Quite a lot of high-level lightning, a few cg strikes and 20 minutes of welcome heavy rain. Took 7C off the temperature too so good for sleeping!

That's quite a storm you got there in Leicester and another cell close by to the east xx

I assume these are the cells currently exploding over the midlands, as viewed just now from the field behind my house in South Cambs.

If you look at the radar for northern france it looks very promising for later tonight, if it survives the Channel crossing!

Duane's only about 25 miles to my South and we have nothing here, not even distant thunder but I can see some cloud in the South though.

Storm easing but the sky is electric with constant lighting all around even though the rain is easing for now.

What a storm!

Very humid and sticky!

The cell entering Nottingham now is very impressive indeed - ppn rates in excess of 50mm/hr and frequent sferics.

Struggling to see how I managed to avoid all that earlier on.  Looking at the radar you would have thought we  had a period of torrential rain and  vivid lightning - in actual fact we got zilch - not a drop of rain, no lightning and just a few distant rumbles !

Is that it?    Still feels pretty muggy.

Looking towards SW from Sheffield.   Taken at 21.28 BST this evening...  This one developed pretty quickly...  The main "Leicestershire" cell is in the distance on the left of the picture.

Raining here right now, a blob centred near my house on radar it would seem!, but no thunder and it's not even wetting the ground much, strange to see, maybe the ground is so warm?
