What a thunderstorm. The first one started booming in the distance at 1am and took a full hour to arrive. In that time the lightning rate was incredible. Essily one a second on its final approach. There was a gust front 15 minutes before the arrival followed by what can only be described as a tornadic wind as the main shaft of hail and rain arrived at 02.05hrs. Visibility fell to less than 100 metres. The peak rain rate of 443mm/hr was achieved at 02.16hrs. The temperature at the start of the storm was 23.7c. 32mm fell in the 30 minute storm.
Further thunder crashed around until 4am, rumbling away to the NE soon after 4.
I am happy for any of my data to be used for research by TORRO if needed.
