Quite frankly - I don't rely on any of the newspapers for weather forecasts these days and I haven't relied on them for ages.

Its forums like this which are the best for weather forecasts and that has been the case for a number of years now.

For the first time I seen the BBC forecast put 23C tonight in London as highest I saw was 22C on 10th August 2003 evening forecast.  The graphics for tomorrow thunderstorms show plain rain and no thunder symbols like the old graphics which was more clearer.

Every day this week they've over-forecast nigh time minima in London - they were showing 19-20C several days last week and every time it got down to 16 or 17. If they are showing 23C that suggests to me that the real minimum will be around 20C.

The nighttime temps in central London wil be much higher than at Northolt!!

St James's Park is the Central London site - last few nights it has got down to a mix of 16, 17 and 18C. It's generally around a degree warmer at night than Heathrow.

Sunshine and showers, some heavy with thunder, especially on Saturday when they are likely to become more widespread. Warm temperatures initially, becoming very warm or hot on Saturday.

Just saw the forecast, typical, I go on hols saturday, only potential for storms we've really had. He also said storms may drift further west depending on the wind, could be all of southern UK, from The Wash , downwards

Latest forecast at 1.30pm that he put temps far too low this weekend at 23-24C when actual temps would be high 20's as the models show from Fri-Sun before dropping back to mid 20's on Monday.
