thanks Guys!... As Dew has said, we're desperate for some rain round these parts... even more so as I am now an allotment holder!.. just wish that the soaking wasnt' Sat night... tomorrow would be fine!... Just seen the 9.30pm forecast and it ain't looking good...extra gazebo going up tomorrow

Its a difficult one to call actually. Cape isn't that high, and there is no well defined frontal system either. Its one of those situations where there is some energy and moisture about, but not a well defined lifting mechanism. So probably the areas of precipatation will be fairly unpredictable; you may end up with heavy rain and thundery spells lasting hours, or you may get off scott free with stuff rumbiling away to the east. Probably something inbetween. Looks like a nowcasting event to me.
EDIT: There is something very nasty going on over france, looks like alot of potential energy there and a storm front. The forecasts may change and bring it a little further north over the channel and S england I suppose. I wouldn't be comfortable having to give a forecast, I don't know about anyone else.
