And after going out and giving it a good shake to dislodge any water (the transmitter for the thermometer, that is), I've now got data coming in again. Phew, I thought that storm was going to cost me the best part of £250!

Decent enough here yesterday evening. Frequent distant lightning eventually led to sevaral good claps of thunder and a spell of heavy rain between 2300-2300z. All the activity remained to the S & E but it was good to see after the complete bust earlier in the day

Thunder broke out yet again here in Radstock. We are really doing well out of this spell. This afternoon has echoes of last Monday afternoon with this classic summer convergence line right over us again today.

Just gone through another  big thunderstorm here. The main core passed just to the South of me this time over Jim's patch at Frome. Nevertheless, gave me a good view of some impressive cloud to ground strokes plus intercloud ones too with some decent thunder too with one explosive clap. Rain from these here though has not been the issue though so far today.

Easing off here now, that was some storm I must say, I did see some forked lightning a moment ago now the rain is lighter, 18mm fell from that one.

Oh dear, the wife is the Fromes Westway Center manager and her phone is starting to ring with reports of flooding in the shops, looks as though I'll be doing a bit of chauffeuring in a while.

I really love these WSW flows in showery air in summer. They often give us our most impressive storms of the year fed by opposing sea breezes from both the South and North Coasts of SW England.

The next one is already moving across the Mendip Plateau towards Chilcompton, Stratton On the Fosse. i don't think this one is electrified yet but I don't think it will be long.
