I don't think he was being entirely serious you know, Pete? LOL

You're right about Cook, though. If we had a lead of a 1000 with 5 sessions left, he'd probably still be batting.

I think people may be forgetting that there's another 5 test matches starting in 3 months' time.  Psychologically Cook and Flower want England as much on the front foot as possible to end this series.

Play to start at 11.30, some blue sky emerging too.

Obviously vital to get past the follow-on total. If we don't then it could well be a tense day. If england get past the follow on but are, say, 180 short, then australia will come out and try to bash some quick runs and declare. If England can bat on and on then the match will drift to a close.

Only one thing to go for today: Bell's 4th century of the series to make records.

England have avoided the follow on - will Alistair Cook take my advice

I'd just like to see us try to hit every ball out of the ground from here. At least give the paying crowd something to watch

Mentioned now. It's only on HD apparently. I'm not switching to SD because I'm too posh.

368-9. Haddin has equalled the record for catches in a series with 28.

Let's hope Kerrigan bats better than he bowled, poor fella.

67 overs left today and australia start their second innings 115 ahead. Will they set england 250 off 45 or something like that?

England won't go for it and realistically they'll shake hands and walk off when the last hour starts, I.e. about 30 overs of the 45.

With another day's play, England could have won this

I hope the convicts have the balls to set England a total, and then I hope England have the balls to go for it, which they won't, because Cook won't allow such ever-so slightly risqué shenanigans. It's just not cricket, copyright - The Duckworth Lewis Method

Haddin out for a Duck.  50-3.   Like I said, if we had another day's play, we'd win this
