Just got online now. I think it's fair to say my area got it's monies worth. It commenced at about 7.15am for just over 30 minutes and I honestly reckon I saw gusts to 80 mph. Someone describing on here the October 1987 storm as "the trees looking as though they were moving like a rag doll", was an excellent description.
There is some damage in my home area - it's not as bad as it might have been due to the short duration of things.
It was bad enough if you ask me. I thought things might have been overrated - but after what we had - I think the warnings were excellent.
