Does look qutie heavy set over the Channel, which does fit reports of lightning along the Channel Coast.

Damn, if only it is night time.

PS: Am seeing lots of mammatus as the anvil tops spills over our way.

Just had a quite ferocious downpour with a little hail mixed in for good measures. Considering how cold it is that downpour was impressive.

Had an active little storm pass just to the north of Manchester City Centre. Some lovely curtains of hail illuminated by the sun and eventually we got into the precipitation with hail to pea sized and possibly a little bigger.

Heavy rain arrived about 10am with little bits of ice sliding down the windscreen for good measure. Felt thoroughly cold and nasty at 5.5C.

Holy smokes. What an afternoon. It was sunny until just after midday. Then came to bolts of lightning and mega loud thunder. The hail that followed was marble sized for a time instantly covering the roads. Decided to follow it over the Woodhead Pass and to my shock the rain turned to snow on the back end of one of the cells with a temp of 1c.

Got back to Glossop and decided to see what conditions were like towards the Snake Pass. Had to turn round before the summet as the temp was 0c and the road was fully covered in hail still above 250 - 300 metres.

Back home now and the temp is 3c with rain starting again.

Big hailstorm just hit here!!  Big flash of lightning followed by instantaneous thunder. The hail was so heavy that the ground was almost immediately covered with hail.

The sky became very dark with a greenish tinge just before the storm.   Still heavy hail coming down as I speak - with more dark clouds to the west.

Hail storm here about half an hour ago, the temperature has dropped to 5C and the pea-sized hail covering only slowly thawing. No thunder heard.
