Pretty much a constant roar now and added noises outside. A fence panel has gone in the house opposite.

Amazingly the tarpaulin on my shed that I tied up there yesterday is still in place - just!

A minute or two ago I heard a plane go overhead on its approach to Gatwick (they fly low over here if it's windy).  Wouldn't like to be aboard in current conditions...  Still wet here but not as windy as it was earlier this evening. Just have to wait for midnight...

I am fairly well sheltered from the wind in its present direction, but it has definately notched up in the past hour or so. Peak gust up until now is 45mph, but I am sure this will increase.

Pressure continues to drop and is currently 981mb.

Rain started just after 11am and has produced 26.7mm so far, with a few hours of precipitation still to come.

As others have said, I will feel a sence of relief when the wind dies down, these conditions are not good.

really not that windy here at all. The occasional just but mostly pretty calm. I'm really still getting used to my new location but it seems we are shelterd here in a little dip.

Sure things are much different up at beachy head right now

Anyway, time to turn in. Stay safe folks.

Just had a brief power outage here. That is unheard of. Seriously nasty out there now.

No trains on SouthWest before 0730 tomorrow. 4 new reports of trees blocking lines in and around the Guildford area.

The house is really howling!!! Hate being housebound atm. Want to get out and film... 5 minute walk to the field up the road - it's totally exposed to the sea.
