You are probably right, but like Rooney and Joe Cole and Walcott etc we might get a few good games out of him before then

So there you have it - Citeh's wages bill is higher than its turnover.

As I said earlier in this thread Van Der Vaart will do some damage to defences. Well today he did, getting both goals in the win over Villa. He really is turning into the bargain of the season.

Meanwhile, Everton's win now puts Liverpool in the relgation zone.

Elsewhere, one wag said on the Sunderland bulletin board that the United end at the SoL wasn't full due to the long journey from London.

Man U end wasnt full...Rooney wasnt playing so he didnt get a ticket allocation for his hookers

Man U total pants once again....looking solid at the back but the midfield created so little. SAF really should have signed a goal getting / creative midfielder. Spurs did get that player at a snip Van Der Vaart fantastic bit of wheeling and dealing by Arry to get him from R Madrid for 8M.

Good win for Everton.. they were bound to get a result sooner or later.

Liverpool in the relegation zone  Ok, they will be closer to the top few by the end of the season, but it's still bizarre and not a little humourous to see them down there. O'Neill to be Liverpool manager before the end of the season?

Apparently, Woy believes Liverpool are six players short of getting an optimum side from his point of view. Personally, I reckon the figure is probably nearer eight.

One thing's for sure, much as I love Joe Cole as a player, I'm glad he went to Liverpool, given I doubt Van Der Vaart would have come to Spurs. Van Der Vaart really is a class above the rest of the Spurs team.

No surprise to see the flat track bullies (don't know what you call them in football) beaten 2 - 0 by Chelsea this evening. I watched the match, and it was clear that even though they had less of the possession, Chelsea were more likely to win.

I too saw the match. Can't say I was especially impressed with either team. Noticable to me at least was the lack of both tempo and pace.

Quite why Arsenal felt the need to always try and go round the back of the Chelsea defence rather than through it is beyond me. Maybe it's because Arsenal, in the absence of Fartgas, don't have enough guile to do so. Wilshere is an excellent player (technique wise) with no pace, while Arseshaven has the pace but occasionally sloppy technique and lapses in concentration.

Good points above..my tuppence worth is that Arsenal cant compete physically with Chelsea. If they had a bit of agression and leadership they would have won a whole lot more over the last few years.
