7.oc here and heavy showers continuing to pass through. But last night I was awoken by some of the heaviest rain I have ever experienced! Looking on the radar this morning I presume it was the showers that went through about 2.30. The wind had picked up also and the house took an absolute pounding. It went on for a good 20 minutes I reckon and then this morning on the way to work, in a field just round the corner just on the other side of the hedge there was a huge fountain of water bursting out of the ground up to 30 feet in the air! Incredible stuff. Will have to investigate later as I'd love to know where it was coming from. There is a beck running nearby and I don't know whether that had something to do with it.

LAST NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Rather windy.

CURRENT:   Raining.     9.9 C.         90% humidity.        Dewpoint: 8.3 C.         Moderate south west winds.      Rising slowly to 1008.3 mb.

WINDS: Strong south west last night and during the day, then it eased back in the afternoon after that bit of squally rain.
AIR QUALITY: Superb, very fresh and clean.
VISIBILITY: Generally very good but was poor for a time in the middle of the afternoon.
