It's been mild here all winter. Not at any stage this winter have I even felt chilly, let alone cold. You know how mild it is when even the missus doesn't need the heating on. Incredible ThumpUp

Not that I recall. Certainly not here anyway. We've only had one solitary frost so far and nothing like cold enough conditions for snow.

I recall some areas like Blackpool and Preston having a very brief spell of wet snow around that time I think.

10.4c here this morning. That's over 30 hours now with the temperature above 10c...incredible.


Yesterday peaked at 11.9c.

It felt very mild this morning, but by the time I'd been soaked by that squall line and stood on a station platform for 15 minutes it was certainly cold enough.

A few reports of 12C in the south east. I would expect to see 13C or even 14C in a few spots later in the evening around midnight perhaps.

The last 3 days the temp has exceeded 12c and the mean temp here in Wareham for january,so far is 9c


quite incredible!


I personally think this is going to be a very mild winter.

I don't think we will be seeing anymore thirteens for a few days. Despite the wind coming from the south west; we are now in a returning polar airmass which never really gets too mild.

I agree with Spring Sunshine... With the odd blip I think Spring will arrive a lot sooner than normal. Again not based on fact just the way this winter is panning out. London has had temperatures more or less between 9 and 13 degrees over the last few weeks.

Spring bulbs (not sure yet if crocuses or snowdrops) are starting to poke through beside the Tower of London. Combined with the bright sunshine this morning it almost felt like spring was on the way. Just hope we don't revert to grey "cool easterly" type later in the month but I fear we will.

Beside the normal weeds that should have died off in autumn still growing. Tree's have nice juicy buds already. Widespread over town evidence if daffodils poking through, some bluebells, and a verity if other flowers... Some in bloom.

I even saw these early bloomers today lol.
