I look at this website for a local weather station in Fleet, Hants, about 9 miles away from here, and somewhere that I used to work.

The amount of rainfall in this area has been astonishing, and this website outlines it well.
Since 15th December, so in 34 days, a total of 284.4mm (11.2 inches) of rain has fallen, compared to an average for that period of about 75mm. That means approaching 4 times the normal rainfall!
In the last month (18th Dec - 17th Jan), the figure is 256.4mm (10.1 inches)
Already it is the wettest winter on records going back to 1997, and the winter is only slightly over halfway through!
