Largely dry and clear at first. Then later sleet, snow or hail showers will arrive, perhaps leading to slight accumulations of snow. Icy stretches will form on untreated surfaces. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Wednesday:

Wintry showers, sometimes heavy, then outbreaks of rain. Through the afternoon the rain will become heavy, before clearing away eastwards. Blustery showers follow. Very windy, coastal gales developing, perhaps severe. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Looks a little like my snow risk map from last night  Admitadely though, the snow got much further south than anticipated.

A little wet snow here this morning but only enough to leave a slushy deposit on car windscreens and wheelie lids.

Those MetO forecasts seem out of date/wrong to me.

GFS 12z clearly shows temperatures rising after midnight, ahead of tomorrows storm - wind, rain, gales. Snow on highest hills.

At odds with GFS 12z rolling out. Clouds seem to be thickening in the latter half of night as the fronts approach from the W.

Had some snow this morning but it only stuck to some surfaces, it's gone now but nice to look at, I guess I could class that as some accumulation this Winter. However as I look to my east I can see some of the hills (Pennines) are still very white, but it seems the proper snow accumulations that lasted without melting was high (350-400m). Looks like the Alps when I look out.
