THIS MORNING: The brightness held on for most of the morning despited the increased cloud cover.
THIS AFTERNOON: Cloudy with rain, the rain became heavy and squally by 5 pm before it cleared away to give a last minute chink of brightness. However, there were a couple of moderate showers with a small bit of thunder.
CURRENT: Clear, broken cloud. 7.1 C. 82% humidity. Dewpoint: 4.2 C. Fresh south west winds. Rising slowly to 989 mb.
WINDS: Calm last night, then moderate to fresh south this morning which became as strong to gale force in the afternoon but eased back to moderate to fresh south west by evening time.
AIR QUALITY: Fresh and clean but since this afternoon's heavy rain, there is that "farm yard" smell in the air. The town's drainage system trying to cope with the rain?
VISIBILITY: Very good this morning, then poor in afternoon before it became good again in evening.
