Truly atrocious out there now. Worst gales here for years. Stuff crashing around everywhere. What's most impressive isn't just the gusts, it's the sheer constant windspeed. It's a constant never ending roar outside, interspersed with ferocious gusts. Awful, awful conditions.
This is a bad one. I think the morning will bring pictures of distruction across a wide area.

The swell is already impressive and the winds sustained around 60mph gusts around 75-80mph. One lamppost near south parade pier was swaying so badly i wouldn't be surprised if it topple before the night is over.
I've known and seen many a wind storm like this in Portsmouth, nothing to exceptional. I think though because of the amount of them in such quick succession of late, repares haven't been able to be done and more coastal and structures are likely to suffer as a result.
