Quite frankly I'd love to see both these sh.i.thouses go out.

Once again looking like another impressive performance from a European team.

So my view in order of performance thus far

1. Netherlands

2. Germany (close 2nd)

3. France

4. Argentina

5. Costa Rica

6. Italy

I just don't get too worked up by Germany. They play an entertaining brand of football nowadays and lets all face it, nobody likes the Winker. Given the choice I'll side for Germany, if for no other reason than my German mate was cheering England on against Italy.

Mind I do agree that Muller made a meal of that but I guess he was just giving the Potuguese a piece of their own medicine (known that they are for diving and playacting themselves).

On this German performance so far and the Dutch one, a Netherlands Vs Germany knockout game would be tasty, especially so given they do have an intense rivalry (the Germans really do not consider England a football rival).

Loving the number of goals scored per game so far, standing at 3.4 per game as of end yesterday.  Certainly on track for a much higher scoring tournament.

Pepe was a tit going back to Mueller. As for Mueller, he went down like he'd been shot. Personally, I'd go back and do it for real.

I'd like to see the ITV panel go out of this World Cup quickly. For crying out loud their anchorman in the studio is unbearable.

ESPN commentator just said that Ronaldo and Khedira (Real Madrid teammates) swapped shirts at half time in the tunnel.  That's pretty disrespectful stuff in my book. If I was a Portuguese fan I'd be livid.  What it does mean is he will be subbed out shortly and saved for the next two games since there is little way back for Portugal in this game now.

Ronaldo not looking like his usual self - or perhaps he just hasn't had enough of the ball - been mostly Germany.

Germany are looking like a real class act based on this performance thus far. As for Ronaldo, he's been anonymous in this game. So much for all the hype surrounding him!

Their commentators are no better IMO, Brian. Not just in this tournament so far but the last few World Cups also. Oh for the days of the likes of Brian Moore, as well as Motty and Barry Davies on the Beeb.

God, that was a shocker of a match. Nigeria were absolutely pi$$poor. At least Iran stuck to its game plan.

Looks like Jozy Altidore is missing the Wearside weather and will be watching the rest of his World Cup from there.  Interesting lack of Forwards in the USA squad.  It's been a big big big topic here about the omission of Landon Donovan (even more so since I work in the small town where he was born and grew up).  That decision to go with lots of midfielders may have been a bad one for Klinsmann and USA team now.
