Never has the phrase "It doesn't just rain, it pours" been so truer as it looks like I'm about to get in in the neck with persistent and sometimes heavy rain lasting for the next 20 hours.

The models wants to give this end of Kent between 40 to 55 mm of rain: http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/expertcharts?LANG=en&MENU=0000000000&CONT=ukuk&MODELL=euro4&MODELLTYP=1&BASE=201407051200&VAR=rsum&HH=27&ZOOM=1&ARCHIV=0&RES=0&WMO=&PERIOD=

And the radar has already made a start on it by picking out that mass of rain trundling towards Kent: http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

Oh well, the garden could use a good soak.

As the back end of this wave frontal system arrives here and how brightness level is starting to increase, I think it is time for me to have a quick add up. It looks like 17.5 mm of rain has fallen since yesterday evening.

A fairly prolonged and quite beefy thundery-rain type shower earlier on this afternoon gave me 12.9 mm of useful rain. The lawn certainly is lapping it up.
