Looking from the train (currently at Limehouse Station) there seems to bĂŠ a funnel cloud developing over North London - I have taken a photo and will post it later

In the past hour we've had a large number of big jets skirting very close to us from Heathrow/Gatwick. Flying very low. 747's
Possibly trying to avoid the messy area over central London where I understand its stormy again.

Edinburgh Gogarbank reached 27 C earlier and thunderstorms are now breaking out between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Heard one distant rumble so far and see the precipitation shafts to the WSW

More rumbles of thunder to my south now over the Pentlands and a storm still visible to my west. Looks like the old classic of a cold front slowly moving into hot humid air. The wind is getting up and the temperature has dropped from 27 C at noon to 21 C

Activity now died away and just a general area of light rain moved in

Apparently Glasgow recorded 29C on Friday so with the forecast of cooler atlantic air bumping into the hot, humid stuff, I wouldn't have been that surprised if we'd had any thunder. Sounds like most of any the thundery activity today up here has been to the east of my area.

Big potential here today in a very warm and unstable environment, 25c.

Any news from those in South Kent/East Sussex? Currently a potent looking line of storms from Ashford down to Eastbourne.
