A cheeky thunderstorm is passing by us as I type, occasional flashes and some big rumbles as well as it starting to rain. Oddily, the wind is being quite calm at the moment.

Basically it's been like a continuation of Spring so far this year at this end, or at least it felt like it. I tried not to miss "high summer" by blinking too much, though.

And yet it's funny to think that it was on this day 11 years ago when temperatures touched 100 F somewhere in Kent.

Very narrow line of heavy showers.

A couple of miles to the north and south, sunshine and blue skies. Here, torrential rain and hail.

Been mostly dry here all day - until now. There was just a big flash of lightning, a deep rumble of thunder, and then seconds later the heavens opened; absolutely lashing down!

Best year for convection since I've lived here. Sorry, Duane, you've lost your touch!
