The risk is now transfering to scotland and the far north of England. However whatever tropical chararistics the storm had left are nearly gone now, so not expecting anymore significant convective activity, just heavy persistant rain.

Winds have moved into a more westerly position so here in the southern part of Northern England that can only mean one thing - bands of heavy showers off the Irish are now forming and moving east. Pretty much in line with the latest forecast for a wet evening here.

The warm moist air is moving into the N sea now, being replaced by cool dry maritime air that will not support thunderstorms.

By midnight the whole of the UK pretty much in the cool dryish air. Ofc there are still likely to be showers as one would expect in a north westerly airstream but they won't be the thunderstorms we have seen earlier today.
