If that was the same lively one we had here, we had a brief brown out, but OK now. Rain heavier, previous cell's rainfall had made pavements & roads steam, almost foggy at ground level now. Definitely more activity here than the previous cell an hour ago.

Worst nighttime storm I can recall here. The activity has been very localised across north London, the Chilterns and across to East Anglia.

Agree Brian , a real corker. Lightning was v.frequent. Booming thunder, whole house awake, including teenager who never wakes up normally
The humidity during the storm seemed to soar

This little beaut over the Channel yesterday evening was popping out lightning every second at its peak. Here's a view of it from my home inland.

Had a great view of the storm that hit the Thames Estuary area earlier this evening.

Took this shot from about 40 miles away.

Thanks guys. I reckon the storm was at least 30 miles away so it was amazing to see it here.
Complete cloud cover today seems to have scupper end any chance today. France is instead the place to be.

Had a thunderstorm on my way from Stromboli to Messina, Sicily, this evening. Some quite impressive lightning, including cloud to cloud type. Some heavy rain, but only occasional lightning on arrival in Sicily, then it died out.

Perhaps a small chance of a rumble of thunder tomorrow associated with this small feature coming in from the south, which is forecast to bring heavy shower to parts of England and Wales.
