From Lowestoft, I saw plenty of lightning flashes from the storm that affected North Norfolk this evening, the best I've seen since 19th July this year.

Are we having flash! Bangs! Tonight?

Well the feature skimming across the South tonight certainly looks well organised and has a recent history of sferics down it's length.
It is very probable some areas will a few storms that are embedded in the trough.

I caught a small earful from local radio weather that S. Wales might cop for some nicies tonight!

Yes already had just one flash but a very long rumble culminating in a loud bang at the end suggested a cloud to ground strike on the Mendips to my West in what is yet another thunderstorm event for my patch this year.

Belt of heavy rain now moved into the NE, the most remarkable thing is the temperature - right now it's 15.4C ...remarkable at this time of the night and past mid October. 

Dark with very heavy rain at the mo not far off torrential at times.

Been going for the past 25mins or so with a lot of surface water flooding!
