Best storm for years here in North Norfolk. Thunder and lightning for nearly 2 hours now. Has been overhead. Power dipping and tv flicking on and off. Brilliant! !!!

From Lowestoft, I saw plenty of lightning flashes from the storm that affected North Norfolk this evening, the best I've seen since 19th July this year.

Yes already had just one flash but a very long rumble culminating in a loud bang at the end suggested a cloud to ground strike on the Mendips to my West in what is yet another thunderstorm event for my patch this year.

Belt of heavy rain now moved into the NE, the most remarkable thing is the temperature - right now it's 15.4C ...remarkable at this time of the night and past mid October.
