Looks more like the cold snap will affect Egypt not Algeria, and not with snow but rain showers - possibly some soft hail in any T-storms or snow in the Sinai mountains. Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Palestine may get a dusting or a heavier spell of snow on Wednesday night/Thursday, but interestingly alongside the tentative upturn in our fortunes going forward, the models have significantly downgraded this event in the past few days. Yesterday's 12z had 850s dropping to -10C over Baghdad for late next week, as well as a stronger system in the Med with a better wrap around of cold air.
The setup still looks potent for northern and central Turkey including Istanbul though, and maybe the Aegean for a short while on Wednesday. The cold air also looks to still reach down into the Gulf area too giving some cold days for Iraq/Saudi/Bahrain etc... I imagine somewhere in Iran will get some snow as well - usually Ardabil or the Caspian coast.
Won't be welcome news for the thousands of refugees in the region, especially as the cold air lingers for a while in spite of the snow thread lessening in western areas.
