Owen in injury shocker.... Seriously, I used to think Darren Anderton and Jonathan Woodgate were the benchmark, but Owen makes even Keiron Dyer look like a total novice

Lol, I bet the deluded Sam Allardyce was thinking of the £ signs ahead of the takeover. Well he has certainly been handed a masive transfer budget.

😂 😂 £5m! That's less than many Championship club's budgets, but they still expect a top 12 finish. That'll be "See ya Sam" then... Sorry that's "big" Sam

From the 'Truly Reds' Blog

''While Spurs are desperate to hang on to Bale, Ferguson may test Harry Redknapp’s resolve with a cash plus players offer involving Park Ji-Sung and former White Hart Lane favourite Michael Carrick. Is that a highly interesting scenario? You bet it is!''

Actually, former White Hart Lane favourite is probably an accurate term, though not in the way the author intended.

Look North at St James' Park

St James' Park

22:25 Wednesday, 27 October 2010

On this evening's Look North, Dawn Thewlis was presenting a report live from a very excited St James' Park, where Newcastle United hosted an important match against Arsenal.

She made a particular remark when the fans took her by surprise on live television which, we fully understand, caused offence and upset for some people.

We'd like to say that both Dawn and the BBC apologise for the wholly inappropriate comment she made.

Dawn Thewlis is a sports reporter oop North. Anyway, she was doing a report from Sid James Park when the usual cretins (Newcastle/Arsenal? fans) started prancing about behind her trying to get on TV and generally being a nuisance - at which point she apparently turned around and described them as having 'special needs'. Not the most politically correct statement to make and maybe harsh. On the other hand it may be entirely fair. The Beeb have since taken the report down.

Good game at OT this evening two attack minded teams....tho i thought Bale was relatively quiet like wise Lennon both Spurs wingers overshadowed by Nani and the very industrious Park both Man U players having the ability to come inside and cause problems where as both Spurs wide players stayed wide... Bale did move in field once and had a good shot on his much weaker right foot.

Bale was well marshalled by the young Rafael likewise by Brown when he came on.  Bale worth 30million, no chance !!! very left footed and very much a player who relies on speed he could be seen as very much a one trick pony.

Man U deserved the win, tho by 2 goals probably not. Poor refereeing for the 2nd goal but the result was never in much doubt. Spurs just cant beat Man U simples...

VDV impressed definitley a class player.

Rafael played well - kept Bale pretty quiet. Impressed with Berbatov too.

As I was working only picked up tit bits from the Beeb's online text commentary on this afternoon's games........wins for Chelsea, Arsenal and Manu U, in the top 5. Seems that Blackburn were pretty unlucky not to get something out of their game as were West Ham, but clubs that vie for top positions season in season out have that ability to somehow get results. Man U's game appeared to be a much better match, and ignoring what seems to have been a controversial decision, where certainly worth their 3 points..............I'll catch a glimpse of all the matches on MOTD shortly

Reports in this mornings papers about unrest at M City, ya ya ya ya ya Toure having a bust up with Milner last week, also Adebayor having a row on the pitch with A N Other.

Reports that Toure was allowed to go home at halftime after being subsituted against Arsenal. No wonder some City players weren'y happy. Also reading that Adam Johnson is on a mere 25k a week no wonder there is a bit of unrest, I dont understand how one interenational footballer can be on more than 150k a week more than another. ???

Asking for trouble IMO

Just looking at some of the current comments on the live text commentary on the BBC Sports website - Bolton v Liverpool game - and the point being made how much of a peripheral player Joe Cole has been since his move to Anfield.....mind you that said most of the squad are doing diddly

Good win by Liverpool, given they didn't play that well. Bolton had more than enough chances to win. All of that said Liverpool are a truly awful side to watch.

llamedos

More like a "useful" win for Liverpool given they need the points and Bolton had just as many opportunities to take the points from a pretty poor game. Nothing inspiring from them at all today, but onwards and upwards for Liverpool anyway, sitting further up the scrap of 12 clubs at the bottom of the Premiership than they were at the start of play today.......not much more to say really about the non functioning unit.
