SEMerc 1 v 1 Wallaw
Think we might have got a bit lucky according to some stats but we finished stronger and might even have nicked it. I would take a draw at White Hart Lane all day long though.

Under the circumstances I tend to agree with you. The massive corner count was brought about by Sunderland defending far to deeply, particularly in the first half. In the second half we adopted a 442 system, I am glad to see that Bruce is beginning to see some merits from this, and both teams had more space hence Spurs scoring their goal, which incidentally was handball and should not have been allowed. That cancells out the penalty shout which to my mind was a 50/50 possibility. Once the equaliser came, Sunderland were the stronger team and could have gone on to win, but I guess a draw was probably the right result.
The one thing that really worries me is the lack of the midfield 4 in a 442 system to be able to pass the ball accurately. If this system is adopted when Bent returns which looks to be likely, then the striking pair will get no service and not score enough to counteract what we concede by giving the opposition too much space. They also need to learn where the goal is and help out the strikers. Defencively they are fine, but in attack a lot is left to be desired.
After all the fuss about Bale recently, I have to say he was made to look to be very ordinary last night.
