More like a "useful" win for Liverpool given they need the points and Bolton had just as many opportunities to take the points from a pretty poor game. Nothing inspiring from them at all today, but onwards and upwards for Liverpool anyway, sitting further up the scrap of 12 clubs at the bottom of the Premiership than they were at the start of play today.......not much more to say really about the non functioning unit.

Newcastle 5-0 up at home to Sunderland, Steve Bruce doesnt look very happy.

Liverpool hire Comolli. Not sure what to make of this. Comolli's signings were mostly good - at least the ones' he's always claimed credit for.

Yet it ultimately proved a disaster because Levy would largely sign-off Comolli's recommendations, bypassing Martin Jol in the process. The whole model of manager 'working alongside' (joke, joke) a director of football was nothing more than Continental tosh and was rightly binned after the hapless Ramos was sacked. It may work at Liverpool if Woy is prepared to have his bottom owned and be marginalised. Of course they may have other ideas for Woy, such as sacking him, perhaps to be replaced by a symbolically important appointment malleable stooge.

In any event, Mr 666 has his work cut out for him, if one works on the basis that Pepe and Torres bugger off. So that's probably nine new players Liverpool need. Good luck.
