Just started snowing here in Cirencester, big flakes the you can hear on the windows. Temp is 1.5c and dew point is -0.4c. We are 110m asl so should be favoured for some lying snow tonight. Depends on the alignment of showers I guess.

Lets get the cold in proper for a good winter fall. Take care, tongue-out

My ex-Aunt took the following photo of, apparently, snow which fell in a thunderstorm a short while ago, at her home in Paignton Town Centre, Devon. It could well be hail, she's no meteorologist!

Still, if it can do that on the coast in Devon...

Well here there have been snow showers on and off since about 6 pm when rain/sleet turned to snow. Not sure about places in the south west at lower altitude.
However there is not much snow on the ground here, really only about 1-2 cm, problem is the snow melts a bit inbetween showers. May be some accumalation over night, though have to say not expecting wonders.

Really so happy just to see snow falling and lying (a bit), hasn't happened for too long!

You can view the cameras on the motorway network if you want to see if its snowing anywhere. Go to http://www.trafficengland.com/ and select the part of the country you want to look at and then select 'traffic cameras' on the right. They're not great quality images though.

Edit: If you click on the cams on the M6 just south of Birmingham you can see settled snow.

A heavy snow shower passing through, turning everything white. 🙂 It's a shame that temperatures aren't just a degree or two colder - it would be a very wintry scene then as the snow would be blown around in this gusty wind.

We had the flurriest of flurries earlier which fell on half frozen ground, so flakes on snow on cars etc.  Rock on!

Now there is sweet FA near on the radar so I think that might be it for the night for us!
