Another all time low reached this week with the crappiest northerly in history. If I didn't have an anemometer I would swear the wind was coming from the east the past few days
It's an embarassment. 4cm lying yesterday but no tops up and it reduced to 3cm by this morning. Several hours of wet easterly type snow this morning added nothing and this was followed by a sunny afternoon which melted it further.
Now plenty of grass showing so not even a full cover. This is a disgrace for the heaviest snowfall for over 2 years:
The 36-48 hour topplers in the 90s and 2000s used to deliver more than this which is pitiful. There has not been a single day, from this current spell, with a daily mean below freezing. It reached 3.2C today and currently, 1.5 hours past sunset with clear skies and snow on the ground, it is still well above freezing at 0.8C For a supposed cold spell in early February this is a joke.
No more than 4cm of snow and no lower than -4C makes it a stinker of a winter as far as I'm concerned and nothing good on the horizon with potentially the worst weather of winter coming up in the form of anticyclonic gloom
