I am in a genuine state of shock at how bad the Limp Dumbs have reportedly done. I had them down for about 30 seats. Most of the polls had them in the 20's.

Amazing exit poll, ha ha!

At least I hope the decimated lib dems would still be needed for a coalition as they have a good moderating effect.

If the result is anywhere close to the exit poll, it will be a huge victory for Cameron, the newspapers and of course the FPTP system.

A minority Con government looks the most likely with another election shortly?

The majority of people in this country are going to be f*cked. On a personal level, I'm just glad I don't have to rely on public services. The next five years of pithy, mean-spirited, look-after-number-one, spivish government will be utterly depressing.

Amazed indeed. What possessed you? Was it the rotten Tory campaign or the colossal balls-ups over the last 5 years that convinced you that this was the time to change the habit of a lifetime?

Nick, I just read your reply on the previous thread.  What broke the camel's back was mainly Miliband's talk about zero hours contracts.  As you probably read on an earlier thread, the job I have is a zero hours contract and I like it that way.  If Labour put an end to them, I'd be out of work and I just think he's out of touch and he hasn't convinced me he's worthy of my vote.

I also think the economy is still in a delicate state and needs some continuation, which I don't think it would get if another party takes office.

Incidentally, I voted Labour in our local elections.

No need to set the alarm clock then. Massive failure in the opinion polls - far bigger than in the past 20 years if the Exit Poll is to be believed.

Quite an incredible exit poll to begin the night with. Inaccurate or the first poll with some truth behind it?

working on the exit poll figures Cameron could bybass the lib dumps and form a coalition with the DUP AND UKIP.

This may be the better option so that tory policies are not `watered down`

It is clear the voters in the marginals have taken the snp threat seriously.

However, if the exit poll is anywhere near correct, the reason traces back to 2010 and Labour choosing Ed instead of David.

Polling companies have blown it BIG TIME

And have failed just like it 1992

With them predicting the likes of CON 282 LAB 272

I expect Milliband and Clegg to go imminently

With labour worst seats since 1987 and liberal democrats on a pathetic 10

I've absolutely no love for Labour, but I despise pretty much everything that the Tories stand for.

The 'haves' to get more, the 'have-nots' to get less sums it up. I f*cking hate this country.

Wow the exit poll is a shock

A catastrophe for Labour and LibDems if true.

I'll be surprised if my incumbent MP, Jo Swinson, manages to hold East Dunbartonshire where I live. Not that I'm saying she has been a poor MP; she's actually been very helpful to me and a good listener whenever I have contacted her about local issues, but the early indications for her party do look pretty bleak.

YouGov poll is an online poll and not a true exit poll. Just asking people online how they voted.

I would have thought that the actual exit poll is going to be closer to the mark than the Yougov one based on past experience?

Yougov is bang in line with the pre election polling.

If it's wrong then it seems the reliance on online numbers is currenly flawed.
