10.6C (-2.2C) here.
Hard to see it won't be another below average month given the cool outlook past mid-month.

I keep hoping for something warmer but it's got colder here.  It's been sunny but the air is nippy and the sun doesn't seem to be doing much to warm us up.  It's looking like I was way too optimistic with my guess but I know how quickly things can change with the weather, so I have my fingers crossed.

Global Warming
10 June 2015 19:41:34

We are still on course for a relatively chilly June. The last few days have been way below average as expected. The wind chill has made it feel even colder. While tomorrow and Saturday may be slightly above average, only Friday looks like being a genuinely warm day. After that Sunday to Tuesday look decidedly cool again. From midweek next week we may see things turning a little warmer again. Even if that does happen we are going to struggle to get the CET up to 14C by the end of the month.

The June CET failed to reach 14C in 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013. We may find 2015 is added to that list.

The current provisional Hadley figure is way too high. My calculations suggest the Hadley figure is more than 1C too high on both the 8th and 9th. I am currently tracking a massive 0.47C below Hadley. So another very large downward adjustment is on the cards this month.

Thanks GW. A very minor point, but I was 14.51. However, if you'd like to leave me unchanged, I'm not going to complain! 😨

Definitely looking (relatively) chilly.

I'm glad I threw out those toasty GFS runs a few days before the end of May. A good decision that I failed to make for the previous month!

Really though it was luck of the draw, the models changing their tune just in time and then leaving us to make a short-notice call on whether to follow the new signal or hold onto the old. In April there was less fortune as most of the models took until the first day of the following month to change their signal, the long range JMA a notable exception - fair to say I give that model greater weighting now than I did before.

This morning's output, as described by Gibby, suggests a warmer evolution. If this signal strengthens, it'll be a relief for me!

I'm really not surprised it's so low.  It was decidedly chilly here at the beginning of the week, although it did warm up yesterday and it's been warm again today but not enough to make the CET soar to the level I need it to be.

Strangely enough the last few days in the north east have been real BBQ weather, yesterday was 22.7c when I left work at 16:30 and it was still 19c in the garden at 18:00. I know for the real heat lovers this is nothing startling but for early June it is extremely pleasant. maybe we should move more of the CET recording stations to the real English riviera that is the NE Coast

Global Warming
13 June 2015 10:15:51

Temperatures will struggle over the next four days keeping the generally cool theme for June going. However, from the middle of next week there are signs we could be in for a sustained spell of warm, settled and sunny weather. If this happens it will give a massive boost to the CET. It is therefore now possible that the CET could end up somewhere close to 14.5C by the end of the month.

Global Warming
13 June 2015 10:23:19

There has been much debate in other threads about whether the start of summer has been decent or not.

Well purely from a CET perspective the first 10 days of June saw a CET of 11.73C by my calculations. This is the coldest first third of June since 1991 (just slightly colder than 2001).

1989 was also colder than 2015 but then you have to go back to 1972 for another year colder than 2015. The only other year colder than 2015 since 1950 was 1953.

So the first third of June 2015 was the 5th coldest in 66 years since 1950. That definitely puts it in the well below average category.
