I'm really glad I don't live in a big city with this sort of heat that's coming out way!

FWIW with the temp reaching 26-27C in London today the wind still had a bit of a chill to it at lunchtime. Need MOAR HEAT!!!

Hmm NAVGEM12Z is siberian compared to the 0Z. Temperatures maxing out at a pathetic 39C

(at 1pm so probably 40-41C at peak daytime heat).

Also I love that little 45C spot in Europe!

Will resume recording max and min temperatures as I don't want to miss out recording a heat wave and looking forward to see high temps figures for a change.  I kept looking at the lovely 41C chart over here and cannot imagine the BBC will show this 41C icon on the map.  Most likely in the mid 30's to high 30's figures.

The GFZ 12z is showing the 576 dam line into Hampshire at +150 hours. Has it ever wandered that far north before?

Seem to recall NAVGEM being pants during the winter as well? Overcooking wintry potential like it's doing not with this heat?

I wonder what the forecast models will be saying tomorrow.

What amazes me about todays lot is that they are for only a 5 to 7 days ahead - not 2 or 3 weeks which often show fanciful and absurd temperatures.

36.6C is what we have to beat to get a new July record.
