Temps falls now lower than 20c in the early hours!

Very warm again and still humid.

i appreciate it's a relative thing, and to that extent it was more of a IMBY thing. I see your location is the northwest and I would imagine high 20's are far less common up there for you folk then they are down here in the Southeast where me and Jonsy are. 

May not have too long to wait Ian as tomorrow evening and overnight into Saturday is looking interesting.

Everyone has there own preferences I guess and I do think many people wish for extremes for others when they are in a cooler location watching on. I admit some of us Southern Folk can be a touch selfish in Winter when we freezing cold and lots of snow when there will be poor buggers up North putting up with that a lot more and it get's to a point when is -5 enough or does it have to be -15, for me 25*c is enough and it doesn't need to be 35*c 

last night I found it more uncomfortable then the night before yet last night dropped to 17C.. The night before it stayed up around 23C yet I slept well. I made the mistake yesterday of having the window open during the day and this is why it was so hot indoors yesterday.

But again we get used to warm summer nights down here along the coast, the long term average for July is around 15C, an overnight low of 17C is nothing noteworthy. This is similar for large portions of the south, southwest. 

In fact it's warmer today at 22c at 9.30 than it was yesterday at the same time.

Anyone on the South Coast getting the rain/storms? Just wondered if this lot is making it to land and packing a punch still.

It's just very calm & muggy rain. No thunder and nothing to heavy. Typical summer stuff.

Nothing mate other than a few spots of rain that's evaporating as soon as it hits the very warm ground. With an air temperature of 17.9c its a very different day. Dewpoints remain highish though at 16.3c. I should imagine that any afternoon sunshine after the showers will feel make things feel sticky.

Oh well always tomorrow into Saturday  ...few big rain drops starting to fall here, it has that Spanish storm smell about it outside where you can smell the drops hit the warm pavement.

I've planned using the BBQ tonight so hopefully as forecast it does clear up  Was going to do one last night but it was so hot I didn't fancy sticking my head over the coals... so had a takeaway mix grill kebab instead and let some poor other bugger slave over the heat cooking it 

Does anyone know when the http://www.estofex.org/ site usually updates the forecasts? Is it late PM each night? I wonder if that level 2 zone would edge closer?

Nice rain shower here at present, drying as soon as it hits the ground though, can't complain the garden needs it.

Thanks for the info. Its always nice to know what it is that you're looking at. I'll read a little about what's happening when that type of cloud occurs. Hopefully there will be many more opportunities to see it this summer!

In Wirral last night we got lots of clouds like that, Id say a good 6 hrs worth til sunset of that cloud type... 

The East is still very warm today Norwich 27c and Aberdeen 25c. Aberdeen might get to 28c today not bad for there.

I hope Newcastle hit's about 36*c just to keep Q happy 

A pity it isn't night time as I'd probably be able to see the odd lightning flashing from that decaying cell over the Strait of Dover. But, other than that all I'm getting is the odd blobby rain from the anvil overspill as well as looking steamy over the Cliffs. Feels cool and fresh at 19 C outside but still muggy and airless indoors anyway, especially as there are no wind to speak of.

Update: The hill mist and low cloud had fallen down to sea level to make it quite murky at the coastal edge, along with a refreshing breeze. I wouldn't be able to see any lightning through that gof.

Update again: Had to turn the lights on for mother to read the papers.

Left over cloud/junk from France starting to break up

Sun's out now that the French clag has cleared away. Temperatures are now responding in kind by rising to 22.2 C but it's really the 89% humidity that is making it feel quite steamy.
