Coutinho rescuing a very uninspiring Liverpool. Just as Brentan was going to sub him as well, the genius that he is.

Benteke doesn't seem to fit in Liverpool's system at all.

I've said all along I don't believe Benteke is anything like the sort of player we need. Hope Sturridge can get & stay fit.

Incidentally, Shaquiri in the stands at Stoke - be a huge coup if they could bring him in.

The biggest plus for us was the performance of the back four, who looked solid against an opponent we usually get bullied by.

I didn't think Benteke was that bad, Llanna though probably wasted his chance of starting again in the next few games. We changed as soon as Emre Can came on and I think we'll start with him going forward.

Sterling is making his debut for Man City this evening. I'm still expecting him to be an expensive flop there, if I'm honest.

That's the thing - he's been just as anonymous in the big games vs top 4 teams when he would be allowed more time and space on the ball to create. I think his confidence is shot to pieces.

I agree. The problem is offloading him would result in a big loss. There have been suggestions part of the problem is he doesn't like London.

Mourinho is a total arsewipe pt2,437

Talk about an over-reaction. Still, it takes focus away from him being tactically outwitted by Gary Monk, and his team playing rubbish.

So, Soldado likely off to Villareal; N'Jie likely to come in from Lyon.

Adebyor off or exiled.

Pochettino says we're only going to sign one striker.

So, by my calculation, that'll leave us with two.

Good luck with that.

LOL. Game of two halves. Totally bullied Stoke in the first half - Hughes changes his tactics and it ends 2-2.

Not good already being 5 points behind United after two matches in the competition for the fourth CL spot.

FWIW, I think the way Mourinho treated the Chelsea doctor last weekend was bang out of order. I wouldn't be at all surprised if, at some point, she leaves Stamford Bridge.

I really do miss Randolph's expert, incisive thoughts on all things Chavski. And indeed football in general.

Got to hand it to Maureen, though. In order to ensure media attention isn't focused on his own failing tactics & team, last week he manufactured that whole 'doctor on the pitch' furore; this week it's all about Terry getting subbed.
