What an utterly boring and vile 2 days it has been here! About 4mm of rain yesterday and 1mm today. Max temp today 17.3C combined with solid cloud cover. In some parts of the UK there has been (arguably exciting weather) torrential rain and thunderstorms but here it feels like and looks gloomy enough to be mid October.

Yesterday afternoon and evening here was crazy, rain was so intense at times and some decent rumbles of thunder. I felt sorry for anyone on camping holiday ...can see why Gusty went abroad this year

Come to North Norfolk on holiday people. Been a decent summer bar last week of July. Most of the time we are drier than rest of the UK. August backs my point up so far.

The RAF did it's best to imate a thunderstorm about half hour ago. A fighter jet was scrambled out in to the channel. After rawing across the rainy Portsmouth skies it was by the sounds of it circling out at sea, but the sonic booms where extremely thunderous in sounds thanks to the clouds and echoed all around.
