Warmth signaled next week but then perhaps rather chilly... but far from given.

Taking into consideration the cold N. Atlantic and the lack of , the first week warmth is likely to be watered down a lot under average synoptics, but most recent runs have either suggested anomalously cool or anomalously warm so that doesn't help much really.

I'll just have to go with the theme from many longer range models in recent times of Atlantic westerlies taking over by not long past mid-month, these a bit cooler than normal, and hope for the best!

I'll place my imaginary money on 10.3*C please

Let's say 10.5 please - A very mild start but the chance of a cold northerly plunge at some point, so mild and cold cancel each other out.

[Note - This isn't a GWV forecast and I haven't seen Terry's October forecast yet either]
