Seriously, that is the best Liverpool performance for some time - and the most Kloppish. Never gave Citeh a second on the ball, then attacked with pace & penetration. Just need to sort out better tactics for when we're at home & the opposition looks to play the counter game, now.

Was watching MOTD last night without knowing any of the results & everything seemed to be going well - until the Manc scum got a streaky winner in the last minute. FFS.

And what do all three teams have in common?

Quite simple, they all employ a pressing game.

Let Sh.iteh play in front of you and they'll pass you to death all day and you'll concede due to stupifying boredom.

Saying that, it always helps when Kompany and Silva aren't playing. The Dippers benefitted from that, as indeed we did back at WHL.

Sturridge out injured again, this time with a sore foot. Before he's even played. This guy's got serious mental issues

Fixtures today:

Aston Villa v Watford

Bournemouth v Everton

Crystal Palace v Newcastle

Man City v Southampton

Sunderland v Stoke

Leicester v Man Utd (5:30pm)

All eyes on Jamie Vardy this evening. It would be brilliant if he could set a new record against Manure of all teams  A 5-3 repeat would be very nice

I wonder what all the Newcastle fans who couldn't wait to see the back of Pardew are thinking now

They've already had one relegation since he bought the club, and on current form they could well be heading for the same fate at the end of this season. Sad when one thinks that in season 95/96, they took the title race with Man Utd all the way to the last game of the season; they had been 12 points clear at one stage that season IIRC.

By my reckoning Villa and Newcastle are worse than Bournemouth. Oh and Sunderland. Problem is, Fat Sam may manage to keep them up. We shall see.

Often just after the Christmas period the Premiership starts to take shape, but right now no single team looks ready to take the league by the scruff of the neck and make a statement.

After the brilliant (v-Citeh), the gritty (v-Bordeaux) came the 'Rodgers performance' against Swansea. Rescued by a streaky penalty decision. But hey, it's 3 points and we're now on the shoulder of the leading pack. Sturridge & Hendo back, Coutinho back next game, Sakho due back in a few weeks. January window opening in a month.

That race for the top 4 is very crowded though. City have only rarely looked convincing whilst getting spanking from Liverpool & Sperms; Man U going for the 'bore the opposition to death' approach and surely they can't keep getting undeserved 1-0 wins; Arsenal's injury woes just keep getting worse - or better, depending on whether you're a Gooner or not; Leicester will hit a wall at some point (although I so hope they don't!); Sperms are over-achieving nearly as much as fellow small-club Leicester. And you still can't rule out the Chavs blowing £100m+ in January to kick-start their season then put together a winning run to drag them back into contention.

The only thing I can be sure of is that my £2 bet on Sturridge being the League's top scorer (I got 25-1 and figured he'd be back rattling them in by the end of September ) is dead.

Anyway, that was never a 6-1 game. I just hope we've not used up all our luck in that game; almost everything came off for us, whilst Soton were unlucky.

I was pretty amazed checking the scorelines last night! Luck or no luck, Klopp has really turned the club around after the desperate period from Rodgers.
