OK, so it's winter according the meteorological calendar and time for the compulsory moans, groans and gloats thread, especially as the current output isn't good for those of us who want snow any time soon.

It's looking like more of the wet grey stuff for me and not a single flake of white on the horizon!  What's new?

Pros of a mild winter = Less heating and not quite so much in the way of condensation indoors.
Con of a mild winter = It's always bloody windy.

Crazy that I saw snow the other week up in Newcastle with an ice day, and yet down here in balmy Portsmouth I saw this brugmansia plant in flower still on 1st December! 😂

Winter is over!

Well, technically it ended in 2012.

No signs this autumnspring will be any different to the last few round here.   Mild dross all round.

But maybe if it is like 2013 we will get a day of sleet in March.

All I can say is thank god I am in Australia through most of the winter. Looks like it could be a thoroughly miserable season on TWO forums. Will pop a few posts in during January.

That reminds me moomin, I may have to stock up on some coals for the BBQ for Christmas Day if this mild theme continues (IMBY).

I get pretty fed up with the weather here too, but the thing is, this isn't normal. It isn't supposed to rain nearly every day, and the amount of sunshine we've had over the past month has been atrociously low. A normal UK winter is pretty cloudy but November 2015 was cloudier than even the cloudiest winter months tend to be.

I was starting to miss August recently though, and those pleasantly warm 20-23C days that seemed to prevail throughout the month.. at this stage I don't care if it's cold or not, just wish it was dry and maybe some sunshine to brighten things up.. but it's really hard to get a mild, dry, sunny set up in December. Come February it's pretty easy.

It really does look like a Winter is over thread here and who can deny the charts are all absolutely horrendous. This is going to be a long hard winter for all the wrong reasons.
