Funny you say that Marcus as I was thinking the same. I could be wrong but my feeling is that Frank has so far been a bit of an anti-climax.

There was one headline about Storm Frank causing a building to collapse in Cheshire. Looking at the pics, one end of what looks like a pre-fab shed on top of a garage has fallen into the street. I get the feeling a tantrumming toddler pounding on the wall could have done that.

Anyway, just had our first burst of PPN - and boy was it wild!

Down here the rain isn't meant to arrive until late afternoon/evening, just in time for my bike ride home. Looking at the radar it doesn't look very fragmented as it comes into the southwest!

First bit of rain just arriving, I doubt we'll have much more than 5mm.
It has been gusts to 54mph, fairly normal winter stuff.

Travelling Scotland to Oxford today. Lots of flooding around Biggar but now dry around Merseyside. I could have chosen a.better day to travel

The wind has not been much to write home about although we've had a lot of rain and still pouring.

Radar shows a good 75mm/3inches of rain over Cumbria. Hope it doesn't cause more flooding.

Surprised to see how bad it is at Ballater. While today is utterly revolting here - it hasn't stopped raining with strong winds -the rainfall hasn't been anything out of the ordinary. 11mm so far.

Analysis chart has the centre at 933mb at 12Z. So ECM was closer to the mark (with 936) than GFS (which was going for 923 at the same time).

Meanwhile SW Scotland also seeing serious flooding (passengers airlifted from a bus)

Not a good start to Hogmanay at all and I am very glad I didnt decide to try and get away this year!

Expecting to see some flood damage to bothies too
