After a wet night, it's "turned". Heavy snow settling in a strong wind.

A couple of inches of snow lying up here in Perthshire, road and pavements treacherous as it doesn't look like they expected much in the way of snow so no gritting appears to have been done yesterday.

Poor effort last night. The heaviest stuff yesterday evening skirted to the North of us and the intense stuff this morning went to the South of us.

Woke up to a dusting on the cars and that's it.

Some frozen slush on car windscreens here at 80m. Precipitation just not heavy enough last night. Another good covering over 200m though. That's the 6th consecutive day of snow cover.

This looked interesting from an armchair spectator perspective.

This mass heading towards Hartlepool looked intense for a time (see date stamp) but had died back a bit since then. Since I'm a cheapstake and use the freebie radar on Metogroup, I wonder if this feature fell as thundery rain or snowthunderthingy.

PS: I wonder why images end up looking squashed when posted on a thread here in TWO?

It appears to be associated with a developing low/shortwave trough over the North Sea and is expected to run slowly south-east wards to give East Kent some rain or snow later on tonight, along with the gale-force north west wind. I think it's going to be a bleak, windy and damp night over the Thanet area - or that could miss us completely and we remain high and dry as not all the models are showing the same thing - even only at 12 hours away!

An inch of crisp snow lying from yesterday evening's fall. -1.8. Blue skies, sunshine, and range upon range of creamy white mountains to the north. Time to wax the skis I think.

rain then sleet from about 4, now turned to mod snow and starting to settle.Temp dropping too 0.8 from 2.1. Rather unexpected as forecast was dry.

Going to be rally cold tonight I fear, better hap up the cattle's water. At least it might dry things up a bit ('till it melts!)
