One of the most wintry for YEARS!
UK forecast for the next 5 days
Dry, sunny but cold for many through Saturday.
Today:
After a frosty and icy start, most will enjoy a sunny day but it will remain cold for all. Scattered wintry showers will affect eastern coastal districts. Clouding over in the northwest with inland sleet and snow sinking southeastwards.
Tonight:
Sleet and snow across northwestern areas continuing to move southeastwards, reaching southeastern counties later and giving accumulations in places. Less cold in the west but another severe frost further east.
Sunday:
Early sleet and snow easing but a cloudier day away from the far east. Rain moving into western areas through the afternoon, possibly turning to snow in places. Staying cold.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Some uncertainty but western areas are likely to be cloudier with rain, sleet and snow possible whilst eastern parts stay drier but colder with overnight frost and freezing fog possible.
