Seems to be nothing falling from the sky despite quite heavy returns on the radar. Very odd.

I just had one last look out of the window before going to bed, and it's snowing! No sign of anything settling yet; the ground is wet from the earlier rain.

Just drizzle here, at 2.8 deg C. Car thermometer says 1.0 Dec C , cold but no snow. Dew point must be too high?

Using a torch just now (poxy council streetlight turn-off scheme) there are just a few flakes swirling around - not even enough to show up on any surfaces.

At least it's snow.

Don't know if it snowed at all here or just rained. Ground is wet and there are a few puddles around, no ppn currently.

Ended up with about a 1cm here. A poor effort but better than nothing that looks like it for this cold spell that has been a massive let down here and not as cold or snowy as last January. Hopefully February will deliver.

A surprising covering here, went to bed at 1am and it was wet and sleety. We'd had some snow earlier during the evening but nothing settled, so to wake up to this is a nice surprise.

Had 6cm overnight, with current temp -0.8c.... Kids will be happy with that. Enough to build snowman and sledge etc. feel a little bad as for most areas of the south this has been a let down it seems.... I've been lucky in location combined with a bit of altitude.

PS anyone who feels really let down in the south-east, why not  take a little drive to the Chilterns today... Must be 10% of UK population within an hour or under's drive!
