When I looked out just before 7 there was nothing but now the roofs have a dusting and it is snowing now. Ground soaked though.

Actually coming down quite heavily now. What a waste!

Decent accumulation here and pretty much what I expected. Looks nice at the moment but the ground is wet underneath the snow and temperatures are just below 0C, so I'd expect it to become slushy quickly this morning.

After a mostly damp night the kids have woken me up to say it's snowing. A dusting.

Got about 1cm here, so enough to make it look nice and wintry

Edit - Just been out to grab some logs for the fire and it's more like 2cm than 1cm - just enough to crunch underfoot

Had a generous dusting here overnight, around 0.5cm. And pleased to see snow falling outside in daylight right now as remaining flurries push through.
Temp -1.1C after a low of -1.8C in the evening.

I don't know whether the snow started falling here before or after midnight. (Was dry at 10.45pm). Can anyone help me? Just for my records.

EDIT: This is the first settling snow here since 1,041 days ago (12 Mar 2013)!!

The wait for laying snow continues. Had snow showers Thursday but too wet to lay and last January was same case. No laying snow since 2013 😪

Not a single flake here or indeed single drop of rain. I don't recall many times when the very short term forecast has gone so wrong. I don't mean the lack of snow necessarily because that is always tricky to forecast but the lack of precipitation. We were supposed to have several hours of rain/ sleet/snow and in the end absolutely nothing! Now I've just got thick fog a chilly -0.4 and a dew point of -1. Freezing fog anyone?!

Forecast nothing, got nothing, although the radar looked promising for East Kent for a short period yesterday evening. My five year old is not too happy this morning 😞

The raintoday radar was telling porky pies last night. My location was under the blob on the radar for several hours before I went to bed but not a drop or flake reached the ground. In fact for much of that time the moon was shining brightly through very thin cloud. The heavier ppn, if indeed there was any, slid south to the west of my location. Needless to say nothing on the ground this morning except a light ground frost.

Had 6cm overnight, with current temp -0.8c.... Kids will be happy with that. Enough to build snowman and sledge etc. feel a little bad as for most areas of the south this has been a let down it seems.... I've been lucky in location combined with a bit of altitude.

PS anyone who feels really let down in the south-east, why not  take a little drive to the Chilterns today... Must be 10% of UK population within an hour or under's drive!

Just been out and measured it. I have 6cm.

As there was very little wind yesterday it's clinging to every branch and twig. It's a real Christmas card scene out there at the moment, pity it's the middle of January :)
